Where: mixer/Smackus_Maximus
When: Wednesday at 2pm PST

Last month we had our first ever playtest of the Mixer crowdplay game I’ve been working on, and it was a blast! We’ve made more progress since then, and we want to show our game off to a new batch of playtesters. Even if you came to the last one, please come by if you want to see our game!

Mixer, for those who don’t know, is a Microsoft-developed streaming alternative to Twitch. One of its specialties is interactive streams such as Minigolf and We Are Jake, where every viewer gets to control their own entity in the streamed game world.

Oceans Infinity is a bank-robbing game set in a cyberpunk world. The streamer controls Gaston, a classy gentleman thief who robs banks using his army of hacking nanobots. That’s you guys!

Our elevator pitch was ‘Pikmin rob a bank’, which honestly describes the gameplay really well.

Gaston’s current target is Oceans Bank, which contains one of the most secure vaults in the country. As a nanobot, you can hack almost any object in the game, so long as Gaston can get close enough, but you need to choose wisely because nanobots can hack objects faster if they work together.

The bank has guards, cameras, laser grids, and other hazards blocking us from our prize. You nanobots have your work cut out for you!

If you want to see some older gameplay, check out our demonstration for The SPUF of Legend last week:

The game will be streamed from mixer/Smackus_Maximus, and will feature me and Pat, our project’s Creative Director. Join us Wednesday at 2pm PST, and let’s turn Gaston’s nanobot cloud into a swarm!
